FAQ

Please read through our FAQ section to find the answers to some of our most commonly asked questions!

do you offer meet and greet consults?

At this time, we've decided to suspend meet-and-greet consults to reduce wait times and increase calendar availability for my current patients. Unfortunately, most questions asked in these consults are challenging to answer until a proper assessment has been done. We've created this FAQ section to try to address the most common questions, however, if you have more specific questions, reach out to us here and we'll be happy to answer them.

do you offer virtual consults?

Yes! Virtual consults are currently available for new and existing patients in Ontario. Please note, you must be located in the province of Ontario during the time of the visit. To schedule, visit the online booking page where you'll see "VIRTUAL" before the consult name. Please ensure to select the visit type accordingly. A link to access the call will be emailed 30 mins before your visit.
Read more about the telemedicine process here.

will virtual consults limit my access to things like testing?

Definitely not. Virtual assessments are conducted the same way as in the office and do not limit our access to diagnostic testing. Most testing is completed at home or in the lab. Dr. Holmberg will order the test kit to be drop shipped to your home in 2-3 business days or provide you with the correct paperwork to complete the testing in public laboratories around Ontario (in the same manner as your medical doctor).

Results are sent directly to Dr. Holmberg and will be reviewed together.

Should we feel your concerns cannot be managed remotely, we'll talk about alternative options.

what are your fees?

Please visit our SERVICES page to review the fees for naturopathic services.

Fees for laboratory testing largely vary by case, but costs will always be discussed before proceeding.

what will treatment look like and how long will it take?

Our first visit (roughly 60 mins) will involve a review of your health concerns and the medical history that brought you to where you are now, giving you an opportunity to have them reviewed in detail by a naturopathic doctor. Once we have all the puzzle pieces on the table, we'll create a structured treatment plan, aimed at addressing the root problem of your concerns. As far as duration goes, it entirely depends on your concerns and your response to therapies. We aim to have you on a good plan within three to five visits.

Please be aware that until we've reviewed the details of your current state of health, information about treatment options remains unknown. If you're looking to understand more about what naturopathic care looks like, visit our SERVICES page.

I'm interested in testing, do I need a visit?

Diagnostic testing is ordered during the initial visit. Testing cannot be ordered in advance, as laboratory assessments are only available to current patients and require a proper medical assessment prior to ordering in accordance with standard care guidelines. Most tests are at-home collection - a test kit will be shipped to you, collected at home, and mailed back to the lab. Reporting duration varies by test.
Proper testing methods will be determined during your visit.

do you have an earlier visit?

Visits are booked on average 4-6 wks in advance for initial consults. A waitlist is available should you wish to be notified via email and/or text of earlier openings.
The waiting list is a first come first serve service we offer to try to shorten wait times. Our system will send out notifications to all patients waiting for visits, so we encourage patients to keep an eye on their email/text for earlier times and book promptly if the date works for them.
We always advise current patients to schedule in advance, but availability is often greater for follow-up care.
